IW Council Elections, May 2013

Further to previous postings, I can confirm that I will be seeking re-election as Independent Councillor for Cowes West and Gurnard in May's County Council Election, and cannot wait to start canvassing (proper..!) in the coming weeks!- In the meantime, I'm desperately trying to clear my inbox to focus on this!

At present, it seems likely that I will be the only IW Councillor for Cowes seeking re-election, following confirmation that Conservative colleagues from Cowes  Cllr George Brown (Cowes North), Cllr Roger Mazillius (Cowes South & Northwood) and Cllr Lora Peacey-Wilcox (Cowes Medina) will not be seeking re-election.

My very best wishes and respect to Roger- who raised the bar for me since joining me on the IW Council in 1998.  Although Roger and I have not always seen eye to eye on some issues, his high standards, expectations and influence upon me has been immense; to Lora who has been a good friend since I first joined Cowes Town Council in 2001 and to George whose intelligence, wit and common sense will be missed from County Hall.
